In line with genealogical conventions, surnames will be capitalised, and maiden names will be used even in cases where people have adopted married names.

Section Brown - Ancestors of Sir Cyril Maxwell Palmer ('Max') BROWN, KCB, CMG (1914-2009)

The information following was mainly prepared by Sir Max Brown ("CMPB"). It will be noted that all four of his grandparents' families (the Browns,Palmers, Luxfords and Aldreds) had been early emigrants to the Pacific with every line emigrating from Ireland, Southern England or the Midlands between 1796 and 1840.
